Q　What was your motivation for joining the program, and what about the program appeals to you?

I wanted to try something I had never done before and expand the scope of what I could do, so I applied for this program where students from various backgrounds gather. I have experienced not only to learn various fields, but also to challenge to do things that I would not have had the opportunity to do if I had simply attended graduate school, such as starting a research theme. I also feel that the financial support is one of the attractive aspects of the program.

Q　What is your expertise and how do you want to develop it with the program?

Since my undergraduate days, I have been conducting research on the mechanisms of gene expression and gene functions using genetically modified mice and cultured cells. I would like to apply the technology using living organisms to other fields as well.

Q　What are your future dreams and goals?

I hope that through this program, I will be able to make discoveries that no one has seen yet.
