A New Stage in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Therapy

Q What was your motivation for joining the program, and what about the program appeals to you?

I participated in this program because I wanted to see more of the world that I did not know.
Through discussions with members who have different backgrounds from my own, we give each other advice that can be applied not only to our research but also to our daily lives, and I believe that we have an attractive environment where everyone can grow.
Also, there are opportunities here to make friends, which is becoming more and more difficult due to recent circumstances.

Q What is your expertise and how do you want to develop it with the program?

My specialty is the study of hematopoietic stem cells, which are the source of all blood and immune cells. One of the treatments for blood cancer is to transplant these hematopoietic stem cells. In recent years, research in this field has been actively conducted all over the world, but there are still issues in clinical application. For example, there are still many unanswered questions about how the transplanted hematopoietic stem cells work to promote hematopoiesis.
I hope to work with the information science and engineering people who are participating in this program to analyze this movement together.

Q What are your future dreams and goals?

It’s not clear yet.
Through this program, I hope to clarify who I can be and what I should do for society.
I know that I will face many difficulties before I graduate, but I want to spend my time remembering to “face things with enjoyment.
