My professors lead me to the answer through their questions.

Q: What was your motivation for joining the program?

After graduating from a technical college, I transferred into Osaka University’s School of Engineering. Since enrolling, I’ve decided to pursue a doctoral degree.

I joined the Humanware Innovation program once I learned of it after completing my graduate school exams. I think this program will be a great opportunity for me.

Q: What are your future dreams and goals?

First I would like to be employed at a corporation and work abroad. After gaining experience there, I would return to Japan and support young learners at a university or other institution.

Q: What about the program appeals to you?

When I first presented my own research, I was worried whether so many biology students would be interested in what I had to say. However, soon after I began, a lively discussion developed, and the time limit for my presentation had passed before I knew it. That was a great experience.

One impression I have of the program is how my professors led me to find a course of action through their questioning. I couldn’t see as far ahead as they could, and when I couldn’t answer their inquiries, they proceeded to discuss how my research could be applied or further developed. Discussions with my professors were very insightful and convincing. They are at the forefronts of their respective fields, and they always seem to find ways to bring our disparate research together. The professors themselves are highly motivated and pursue their own research intently while trying to understand as much as they can of the other fields around them as soon as the information becomes available. This is why the guidance they provide is such an essential part of this program.[:]
