Aim to explore the humans’ infinite possibility

Q　What was your motivation for joining the program, and what about the program appeals to you?

My desire to learn about expertise outside of my own field and to work with people from other fields on interesting topics is why I decided to apply for this program. The answer to how we perceive the world, how we generate different emotions, and how we know ourselves still remains unknown. In HWIP project, I would like to interact with people from different fields, always open to new perspectives, and together with you, I would like to explore the mysteries of human cognition.

Q　What is your expertise and how do you want to develop it with the program?

As an undergraduate, I majored in life sciences and pharmacology, dealing with living organisms such as mice, rabbits, and cells. My current research field is computational social neuroscience, where the mechanisms and control of human emotion generation are being studied. Currently, I am actively learning more about the field of computational neuroscience, including analysis of fMRI data, statistical modeling, and Bayesian inference… I hope to gain cross-disciplinary knowledge through this project.

Q　What are your future dreams and goals?

Through studying human cognition, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of myself.
