Interview
Sorry, this entry is only available in 日本語.
I want to grow through this program.
Q: What was your motivation for joining the program?
I felt that joining this program would greatly benefit my own research into the brain and networking. I also thought it would be interesting to cooperate with others in research, and so I applied. The faculty presentation at the kick-off symposium really engaged me, and it was there that I realized the high standard of research at Osaka University and how I wanted to join them in their efforts and grow as a person.
Q: What are your future dreams and goals?
I am interested in developing a kind of “brain-machine interface” where a brain can connect to a machine. It is my dream to develop a product that allows one’s thoughts to control a machine; a product that can be easily used by anyone.
Q: What are your impressions and thoughts about the program?
As the program has just been established, I sometimes find myself unsure of what I should do, but I sense there is a great deal of potential for the future as well. I certainly feel a large difference in the views of the engineers and biologists in the program. While it is sometimes difficult to make myself understood with these differences, I also feel communication with one another is an important part of the program.
Q: What program activities are you planning on participating in?
While I am looking forward to performing a variety of research, I am also interested in taking part in an internship abroad. However, my discussions with international students have shown me that I have to study more English first!
