Interview

Sorry, this entry is only available in 日本語.

I want to uncover the mysteries of life.

Q: What was your motivation for joining the program?

My theme is “Creating Life.” I feel that knowledge and views from fields outside of biology, such as physics and information science, are essential for pursuing an understanding of the essence of living things. I want to proceed methodically combining knowledge from many fields. This program is based on the promotion of integrated research, and I joined because I felt it was an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the knowledge of other fields. I think this program is a perfect match for me.

Q: What are your future dreams and goals?

Through my efforts to create life, I hope to gain a better personal understanding of what exactly life itself is.

Q: What about the program appeals to you?

The research environment, where students from many different fields work together closely, really motivates everyone to learn more. And while we have to make efforts to explain our own field of research to others in a way they can understand, there is an appeal in becoming able to share and discuss our own work with others from different backgrounds. It may not be easy to share our ideas towards developing an integrated research plan, but I am looking forward to seeing our efforts come together.
