Understand human cognition, Produce communication tools for human

Q　What was your motivation for joining the program, and what about the program appeals to you?

HWIP was expected to support me to grow in a multilateral manner, by repeatedly discussing information systems of living organisms with colleagues who have various backgrounds. I would like to understand human information processing. So, I thought that this program and friends would play an important role for my career in the future. Participating in this program makes myself as well as my friends excited and enjoyable.

Q　What is your expertise and who do you want to develop it with the program?

During my undergraduate years, I researched human information processing for exercise planning. At the graduate school I’m going to research on the time process of human information processing as general information processing. By participating in this program, I would like to learn different viewpoints of other fields such as information and life science, and information processing.  I hope that I can apply what I learn during this program for society.

Q　What are your future dreams and goals?

In the future I will research on the realization of human perception and want to develop artificial telepathy. Currently human beings are communicating mainly in languages. However, when communicating information such as images, emotions etc. among humans, it is hard to imagine that language is the best means. Current communication causes lots of information loss when coding information in the language, and furthermore when the transmitted information through the language is often different from its original form. In order to solve the disorder of communication caused by that, it is necessary to clarify the mechanism of recognition that corresponds to encoding and decoding, to identify the information formats in humans, and to use a language-independent communication tool. I want to engage in the development of this tool to eliminate the discord between human relations and develop more advanced communication mechanisms.
