Take the step toward “the great mystery of consciousness”

Q What was your motivation for joining the program, and what about the program appeals to you?

I applied for HWIP with the expectation of obtaining new knowledge and new perspectives from different fields through discussions and interdisciplinary study with the students from various fields. One of the aspects this program appeals to me is that it broadens my mind when someone from different field questions about the things that we take them for granted and omit if we discussed only with people in my field.

Q What is your expertise and how do you want to develop it with the program?

I would like to explore the mystery of consciousness as much as possible. As a start point, I’m research about “the lifelike robot” focusing mainly on cognitive mechanisms of human. I might be able to explore this theme in depth only in my own field. However, in order to tackle the great mystery of consciousness, I need multidisciplinary approach. Therefore, I would like to take my research on consciousness to the next level by obtaining new knowledge integrating research and knowledge from different fields through this program.

Q What are your future dreams and goals?

My dream is to accomplish something great that no one else could, and to have a biography written about me.
