Fulfilling a desire to do something new
Q What was your motivation for joining the program, and what about the program appeals to you?
I was motivated to apply for the program due to my pre-existing interest in interdisciplinary research, and also because I thought it would be interesting to integrate a variety of disciplinary approaches as I pursued my research on dialogue systems. In addition, I thought that the opportunity to engage with researchers from such diverse backgrounds would help me to grow not only as a researcher, but as a person.
Q What is your expertise and who do you want to develop it with the program?
I specialize in systems engineering, and my current research focuses especially on dialogue systems. The capacity for dialogue is one of the representative features of human intelligence. In this program I would like to develop a more multifaceted understanding of dialogue not only to build systems, but to pioneer new approaches by applying feedback from bioscience and information science.
Q What are your future dreams and goals?
To do research that brings smiles to the world.
