I’ll make 1+1=3!

Q What was your motivation for joining the program, and what about the program appeals to you?

My main motivation for joining the program is to find more colleagues to discuss ideas with. Working together with others to achieve things that you cannot achieve on your own is a very exciting process for all involved, and can lead to greater motivation. Furthermore, the program offers scholarships. Kill two birds with one stone!

Q What is your expertise and who do you want to develop it with the program?

I specialize in systems neuroscience, and my aim is to shed light on the neural basis for the brain’s sophisticated and flexible cognitive functions. Currently I’m pursuing an analytical approach aimed mainly at “understanding the brain by studying the brain.” In addition, through my participation in this program, I want to work with information science students strong in programming and engineering science students with strengths in robotics and hardware in order to achieve a constructive approach involving “understanding the brain by building the brain.”

Q What are your future dreams and goals?

(1) To pursue basic research that renders the essence of intelligence in numerical form
(2) To create a basic framework with which artists and artificial intelligence can effectively cooperate to produce works
