What are we?
Q What was your motivation for joining the program, and what about the program appeals to you?
Generous financial supports from HWIP is one of the main reasons why I join HWIP as research could be costly, such as purchasing books, academic papers, attend various conferences/workshops, etc. In addition, many kinds of educational supports, such as international university visit and company visits, ar e another attractive aspects of HWIP. I found these rich supports especially appealing because I am from Yamaguchi University and have any know-hows about what to do at graduate courses as no friends who proceeded to graduate courses at Yamaguchi University.
Q What is your expertise and who do you want to develop it with the program?
I majored in cognitive psychology at Yamaguchi University. In Japan, psychology is often taught at humanities faculties. So I did not have chances to learn thinking processes, problem solving, and logical thinking in science. But there are many excellent students in HWIP. Using this opportunity, I want to improve my research more robust, more clearly and more interesting.
Q What are your future dreams and goals?
To find an answer for a philosophical question, “what are we?”. I love entertainments like TV games, acting, movies, reading and music, so I would like to seek an answer for “what are we?” though research about why, who, when and how is entertainments fun.
