Interview

Sorry, this entry is only available in 日本語.

I want to create something that is not just advanced, but truly valuable as well.

Q: What were your motivations for joining the program?

I became interested in interdisciplinary research when I realized that engineering knowledge alone will not provide the solutions I am seeking in my research. I think that through the sharing of information of various fields, an engineer such as myself can come to understand concepts of cognition and of life forms towards the creation of something new. I decided to join this program because I saw it as an opportunity to better understand my role as an engineer and how I can apply myself going forward.

Q: What are your future dreams and goals?

I want to work towards creating something new. Not just something that uses advanced technology, but something that is truly valuable for humanity. I think that no matter where I end up in the future I would like to stay true to myself and pursue this dream.

Q: What are your impressions and thoughts about the program?

I can get to know many professors and fellow students and their research, as well as the philosophies applied by those in different fields as they carry out their research. Even though our areas of expertise may be different, I feel I can learn a lot from observing their approaches. These connections are what hold the most appeal for me about this program, and in this way I hope to make the most of my studies together with other program participants.
