Interview

Sorry, this entry is only available in 日本語.

I want to share the wonders of science with others.

Q: What were your motivations for joining the program?

Originally, I wanted to be a science teacher, and enrolled in a pedagogy program. However, I came to feel that I myself really needed to deepen my understanding of biology in order to convey the appeal of science to children effectively. As I progressed in my biology studies, my desire to do research got stronger, and I applied for the program with an interest in integrating pedagogy and biology research.

Q: What are your future dreams and goals?

I want to share the wonders of science with as many people as possible. Through this program, I hope to further develop my communication skills, and I think it is important to develop my leadership and management skills as well.

Q: What about the program appeals to you?

The high degree of freedom really appeals to me. Participants in this program can choose their own topics of research and develop their own research programs, regardless of their previous academic background. At first, I was unsure of how to proceed, but now I am really enjoying it. I am really proud and happy that I am a member of a program like this, where all the students can freely choose their research.

As part of the program, I am able to have many experiences such as making posters and presentations based on my research, and holding discussions in English. These activities have been a great way to start my research studies. Going forward, I want to expand my network and find new inroads towards integrated research through events such as research meetings and intensive seminars.
