A future in which we can extract ideas directly from the brain

Q What was your motivation for joining the program, and what about the program appeals to you?

I think it would be great if we were able to extract things that we are seeing and thinking directly from our brains. This idea matches well with the directions of HWIP, and that’s why I decided to apply. I was attracted by the generous support provided across all areas, including educational content, funding, and academic guidance.

Q What is your expertise and who do you want to develop it with the program?

I specialize in brain science, and especially information processing in the visual area of the cerebral cortex. In the program I hope to be able to integrate cognitive insights into vision with information science-based insights into information processing.

Q What are your future dreams and goals?

I hope that by measuring brain activity, we will be able to extract information on what we are thinking directly from our brains and use this information to support our intellectual activity. I believe that by greatly enhancing the way we think, we can make thinking more enjoyable, and contribute meaningfully to society.
