I want to make my ability the most active

Q What was your motivation for joining the program, and what about the program appeals to you?

I applied for this program because I wanted to experience something other than life in research laboratory. 90% of postgraduate life in the engineering departments go on to its graduate school only. For that reason I thought that I would follow it, and many of my friends around me also felt similar. My best motivation is to find out my personal capabilities which are hidden inside of me. This program has high level of human resources, place of discussion, lecture and so on, I think that HWIP must be the great attraction to any postgraduate students.

Q What is your expertise and who do you want to develop it with the program?

I am studying a black box optimization problem as an application of swarm intelligence algorithms. The black box optimization problem is the problem of finding the minimum (max) value that we know only input and its output without knowing the problem itself. A swarm intelligent approach to such a problem is thought to be effective and various researches regarding the problem are going on now. Also, since many of the events in the world are black boxes and can be applied to many fields, I believe that the researches I have carried out would contribute to some interdisciplinary researches in HWIP.

Q What are your future dreams and goals?

Currently AI is receiving a great deal of attention, and I think that the public interest in information technology is rising, such as the necessity for programming classes from elementary school students to become compulsory. In such a society, practical technologies handling information becomes very important. For that reason, I would like to learn those know-how with this program and to become a core person who collaborates with companies and researchers in other fields and creates new technologies in the future.
